Literature Text

Late December
In Newtown,
Twenty-five people
Were shot down;
Many were sad
And many did cry,
There was no reason
For children to die.

“But what should we do?”
People asked the NRA,
The lobby then
Was quick to say:
“Guns are great
They don’t need rules,
Let’s put guns
In all the schools!”

Ignorant people
Bought semi-automatic,
Realizing the damage
They cause is traumatic;
But people are dumb
And people are rude,
They don’t understand
Their opinions are screwed.

Hunting is fine
And defending is good,
But an AR-15:
Not in a neighborhood;
This is something
That cannot wait,
We must act now
Before we’re too late.

Newtown we remember you
We owe you I say,
For the parents who lost
Their loved ones that day;
Something must happen
We need change somehow,
We need that change
To happen right now.
A poem about the Newtown massacre. We must change.

I hate to sound rude but this is old news. the US needs to worry about its DEPT Frist! besides i dont think it was right that he did this to new town, but i am sure it was caused by something the school has done to him. from what i heard, his mother wanted him to see doctors. he was angry about that. plus the teachers he had at that school "pounded" him about that. i dont blame him, for i would have done the same thing, but its still wrong. the kids didnt do anything to him, but another thing is he might have held the grudge for so long, he wanted to take care of it himself.
